remember when teen wolf was mainly centered around scott and his dynamic with stiles, their relationship, the love they had for each other since the beginning and how they'd do anything for each other because they loved each other that much? remember when the writers just ruined that in the last couple seasons of the show just to make a one sided crush for YEARS seem more important than years of love and friendship? yeah, are you still angry about that because i certainly am?

If i had a nickel for every show starring a character(s) of colour who were powerful, badass and well written; but are constantly shit on to prop up the white "morally grey" characters who have rushed and/or contradictory development up to and including their ships; I'd have three nickels.

That's it. That's the joke. No "which isn't a lot but it's weird it happened thrice". Cause when it happens that many times, it stops being surprising.

It happened with Scott McCall, it happened with Daisy Johnson, why wouldn't it happen with Alina Starkov and Mal Oretsev?

I'll never understand how anyone ship stydia they look like siblings act like it too I always see Lydia as an annoy older sister with her annoying little brother stiles

And that kiss in season 6 looked so awkward and forced

They both deserved better

They weren't right for each other but then again there was no one else to put them with

The only Canon couples I like was

Allison and Isaac and Derek and Paige

Others didn't fit or were just damn right bad

Anti Stydia but mostly because I hate Stiles

That's right, I said it. I hate Stiles. I hate how jealous he comes across because Scott is the werewolf. I hate how he basically said Lydia owed him for all the stuff he's done or bought for her when she NEVER ASKED. I hate how do many people put him on a pedestal without realizing he's the "but I'm a nice guy" trope and why him being the "nice guy" is a problem. I hate how he wanted Lydia to use her powers but the second she started to and needed his help he got put out by it and didn't believe her. It was SCOTT that provided the most support for her because Stiles was too pissy over Lydia dating Aiden.

Is Stiles a sympathetic character? yes. Did we need to hear about it from every angle at least once every season? No. I don't even 100% hate him because he does have heroic and even funny moments and he does love his friends and family. (I mostly loved first season Scott and Stiles, and his connection with Malia was beautiful) He's not irredeemable but he's also not the best part of the show.

On a separate but still important note: I know some folks hate that Lydia kissed him when he couldn't consent & I completely understand why people hate it. I also recognize that in that moment Lydia was concerned for a friend and had limited options for bringing him back. She'd tried talking to him, he was unresponsive and he was on the verge of passing out. Even as recently as when the show was on, slapping someone who was panicking was still seen as appropriate. So, when faced with the panic attack Lydia could either hit her friend or kiss him. She was well aware of which he preferred. Again, I'm not saying it was the right thing to do, I'm saying there's context and her primary motivation was that she panicked in the face of his panic.

IMO I think Scott and Lydia should have at least been explored. Their kiss in season 1 had far more chemistry than Stydia ever did, he could empathize with her being overwhelmed by her abilities, and they support each other in meaningful ways. Also, she's strong, smart, and knows when to build Scott up while knowing how to keep him humble and he knows how to support her emotionally without expecting anything in return. Lydia also knows how to support Scott as the Alpha. Plus, given their connection to Allison it would have made sense for them to find comfort in each other if even briefly. You can also tell Melissa loved Lydia and had accepted her as one of her own. Would they be end game? No because the Fandom wouldn't allow it. Do I think it would have been far better than the ending to both the series and the move that we got. Yes. Do I wish they'd been endgame? Hell yes.

maybe it's just me. or I just always hate when a guy is so pathetic about a girl who just Doesn't like him like that and he keeps kind of pushing in a way or have someone make her feel guilty for not feeling the same until she reciprocates and I hate it, actually. stop making women fall for men that they Explicitly didn't like in that way (yeah, they can grow to have feelings for them later, but in the moment they don't). like she does not want you like that, fuck OFF and move ON, it is pathetic and not in a fun way

so stydia was never a thing til s6, were stiles is missing for the entire season, they have like almost no interactions, they force them together and try to paint their non existent connection as the strongest one and they have a ugly kiss to be endgame. it’s hilarious when you think about it. they didn’t have the time to be canon. they were just made endgame to end the show, and then you find out they broke up over a dream lmfaoo that’s so pathetic. if i were a stydia i would have kept that shit to myself at this point bc it’s embarrassing as fuck.
